In 2013, I embarked on an Arts Council of Wales funded project, visiting Ynys Llanddwyn on a weekly basis to gather source material, particularly looking at the objects washed in and left by tide.
I chose Llanddwyn as my inspiration, as it is particularly rich in natural life-forms that are left by the receding tide. Its beaches face into every wind and even at its busiest it is tranquil and stimulating. Hunting along the high tide mark has been a constant in my life and everybody wants to find treasure.
My intent is to ultimately produce metal vessels, ideally the surface texture will dictate the form. Although the same rich resources have inevitably influenced my jewellery.
